More Fireforge medievals

More Fireforge medievals, this time painted as a secular knight's retinue;

The wine red / deep yellow colour scheme is not based on any historical knight (intentionally), and the mixture of patterns on the shields hints at an early stage in heraldry, where a lord's basic colour scheme would be employed by his troops, but not in an organised or prescribed way.

You can see the shield technique clearly in this one - sticker over plastic, ripped and scuffed, then planking painted on the back.

The Sergeants kit gives you a good variety of bodies, in both dynamic (right) and more upright (left) poses.  If you mix them up, it makes the unit more interesting to look at - though the upright poses are definitely easier to rank-up!

Apart from the neutral tones used for wood and leather, and the Holy Land Tan on the few areas of exposed skin, there are very few colours used in this unit - red / yellow / white covers most of it.  But by mixing these colours between hose / tunic / armour, sleeves, and hood, you get nice variety without colour-clashes.

A few more shots to round the post off.  The intention was to produce a unit of ten retainers for each of the secular knights I was doing (see later post), but this never really came off.
