Perry Miniatures Wars of the Roses Lord Stanley

Long time since my last post!  Apologies, it's been a hectic couple of months.  Trying to catch up now with some recent work, beginning with William Stanley's contingent for Bosworth;

Household archers, mostly in livery.  The William Stanley livery of plain red, in combination with a tiny stag's head badge (courtesy of citadel six) led me to introduce as much variety as possible in hose / sleeve colours, to prevent the unit looking too uniform.

Closer shot of some of the archers.  I think I employed three different greens for hose, scattered throughout the full force (there are 63 miniatures in all, in this livery!).  Green stands out particularly well with red, as the two colours are spectral opposites - green being made up of the two primary colours which are not red.  The same relationship works with blue / orange, and yellow / purple.

Another angle on the archers, showing how just a few white sleeves and the odd (very rare) unliveried soldier can help break up the block of red.
